In memoriam Dinko Tucakovic

20 February 2013 – It is with deepest sadness that we have to announce the sudden death of Dinko Tucakovic, manager of Jugoslovenska Kinoteka and longstanding member of the ACE Executive Committee. Born in 1960 in Zenica (Bosnia), he attended the Faculty of Drama Arts in Belgrade, where he later worked as lecturer on film history and directing. As film theorist and critic, he wrote for the main Yugoslav magazines, as well as for Positif and Sight and Sound. He was a committed filmmaker, writer and one of the founders of the “Dunav Film” film school in Belgrade. In 1990  Dinko Tucakovic became manager of the museum of Jugoslovenska Kinoteka. Versatile and tireless, he contributed to the development of the Kinoteka and the idea of protecting, preserving and presenting film heritage, not only in his country, but in the wider Balkan region and the international community. We have lost a passionate and enthusiastic film lover and a good friend. Our deepest sympathies go to his family and the colleagues of Jugoslovenska Kinoteka.
