12 May 2016 – At the center of this year’s conference of the Baltic Audiovisual Archives Council (BAAC), which will be held in Vilnius from 2-3 November 2016, are Europe’s music and sound heritage collections. Aim of the conference is to share best practices and problems connected to the curation and re-use of audiovisual content. On Friday, 4 November, the Europeana Sounds project will hold its second international conference Unlocking Sound Collections at Vilnius University.
The following topics shall serve as an inspiration for the proposals :
• National and international examples, initiatives and projects dealing with audiovisual, especially sound material, online
• Online curation of audiovisual content, especially sound – both from the perspective of users and collections holders
• Efficient dissemination channels and tools for reaching audiences
• Copyright issues related to the curation and use of audiovisual material
• Examples of re-using audiovisual, especially sound material by different types of audiences – scholars, professionals, creative industries, etc…
The closing date for submissions is 10th June 2016. All proposals must be accompanied by a brief abstract (max. 250 words), and should be sent to j.stimbiryte@archyvai.lt
